Transport Authority targets electronic media illegal on buses

With the recent ban on suggestive musical content in the electronic media, the Transport Authority has now turned its attention to the use of certain electronic equipment in public passenger vehicles.
In a newspaper advertisement published Wednesday, the Transport Authority reminded commuters that it is illegal for public passenger vehicles to have radios, DVD players, video players or any other audio visual equipment.

The Authority has also asked passengers on public transport to call its offices if they are aware of any taxi or bus operator who is in breach the regulations.

Concern has been raised in recent times about the playing of lewd music and videos in public passenger vehicles and children who travel on public transportation being exposed to such material.
At a function last week, Minister of National Security Colonel Trevor McMillan was questioned about the police's vigilance as it relates to the playing of lewd content on public passenger vehicles.
The National Security Minister said the police was being hindered by a lack of human resource.

He said this has made it difficult to ensure that bus and taxi operators adhere to regulations regarding the ban on music and other content in vehicles.

Am I living in Taliban-run Afghanistan?! No radios on buses?! So, dem suppose fi pull dem out after dem buy dem?

Let's not get crazy here. It cannot be rocket surgery to find the buses that play lewd music or videos. Leave the equipment! Stop whatever offensive material is transmitted to the public!

MTA? This is Jamaica. Wi need fi know if dem block road round dehso.

Listen, if we can't limit the noise level and transmit clean stuff, I have no problem not having any radios in there.

Our big buses don't have radios either, but coasters and minibuses are almost expected to have some kinda music.
