Hayles suing the members of the media

Opposition Member of Parliament for Western Hanover, Ian Hayles has given his first response to the story about his involvement in a land deal in Westmoreland.

In a hastily called press conference at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Friday, Mr. Hayles announced that he has commenced legal action against members of the media.
Mr. Hayles through his attorney Abe Dabdoub said he has filed a libel suit against Nationwide News Network (NNN).
Copies of the suit were issued to members of the media who gathered for the press briefing.

The suit names Radio Jamaica Limited (RJR) as the first defendant because NNN has a business arrangement which allows it to use RJR's AM band to transmit.
It also names Cliff Gladston Hughes, NNN's Chief Executive Officer as the third defendant.

The lawsuit also named NNN reporters Elon Parkinson and Denis Brooks are the fourth and fifth defendant respectively.
The suit also named Hubert Pringle, a resident of Little London in Westmoreland as the sixth defendant as well as Leroy Campbell and Peter Sherman as the seventh and eight defendants respectively.
