...in Jamaica?
-----------
The Prime Minister Bruce Golding is reporting that there could be a shut down of one or more local bauxite companies as the current economic crisis deepens.
The Gleaner Power/106 News Centre has been receiving reports that this was an option being considered by at least one central Jamaica bauxite company.
Speaking in Parliament this afternoon, Mr Golding announced that a top official of aluminium producers UC RusAl is to arrive in Jamaica tomorrow.
He’s to hold talks with the Government on the future of the company’s operations in Jamaica.
Mr Golding said this would have implications for ALPART in St Elizabeth and the Windalco plants in Kirkvine and Ewarton, which are part owned by UC RusAl.
