Certainly some of the most inhumane acts in this part of the world occur in Jamaica, and on an amazingly regular basis! So, while a clearly useless government sleeps and, when awake, discusses ridiculous trivia such as the leader’s car (which other modern country would debate whether or not to purchase a new car for their prime minister?), the population is left to the whims of murderers, rapists and arsonists. My question now is this: Can a nation where so much innocent blood is being shed on a regular basis expect to receive blessings from on high?
Many of us have grown used to atrocities, and so the deaths of babies, youngsters and women no longer move us. If this is the case, then clearly Jamaica is finished!
On a passing and unrelated note, I wonder how the average Guyanese citizen (whose dollar is over Guy$200 to US$1) is viewing the steep decline of Jamaica’s dollar? There was a time, as recent as back in the 1980s, when we looked with great interest at Guyana’s declining economy.

RESIDENTS of Land Top in Morant Bay, St Thomas said yesterday that they remembered hearing the agonising wails of three children, who along with their grandmother, were burnt to death during an alleged arson and gun attack at their humble dwelling Sunday night.
One of the children, five-year-old Thalia Cousins, celebrated her birthday less than 24 hours before the incident.

The others were Nisha Cousins, two, and Jawara Cousins, three, who died along with their 55-year-old grandmother Angela Lynch, a higgler. The children, who lived with their parents in St Mary, had been vacationing with their grandmother since Christmas.
According to the police, Lynch, her common-law husband and the three children retired to bed at about 11:00 pm Sunday. Sometime after, fire was seen coming from a section of the building. Lynch's common-law husband told investigators that shortly after, a man armed with a gun, kicked in a side door and opened fire on them before making his escape. The common-law husband managed to escape unharmed.
