  • How Kind Of The Police

The police say they may give alleged 'Shower Posse' boss and convicted drug lord, Vivian Blake the chance to live like a free man when he returns to the island.
Seeing as he IS a free man

They don't do that in your God-blessed America. Released convicts are not free in many parts of the USA.

Aren't convicted child molesters subjected to all sorts of rules and regulations when they are released? And I'm not talking about their neighbours might do, but what the state imposes on them.

God character? You know, like the Energy God.

Well yes but he is not a child molester. So he can't carry a licenced gun I don't see how that impedes on his freedom. My question is what do the police mean when they say they will "allow him to live as a free man"? I was unaware that citizens who have paid their debt to society had to have the permission of the police to live as free men in society

The issue was whether or not so-called "free" men are really free. Doesn't surprise me that you would come back with this retort.

Do you accept the fact that some ex-convicts are not free like your regualr every day citizen? I already mentioned child molesters aren't. Do you agree or not? Yes, we know he is not a child molester.

            sigh

Convicted felons do not enjoy the same freedoms as those of us who have walked the straight and narrow and understandably so. My question to you is what do the police mean when they say they will "allow" him to live as a free man?

Well, they might have the power to require him to do certain things while free - report twice a week to a police station, live certain areas, etc. I doubt if we have any such room for such things on our books because those 18th century law books usually don't address such things.

In any case, it is never in the hands of the police to determine what should happen to such people, but I guess they could recommend to a judge. That is probably what they mean.
