IT is not always possible to name all the winners and losers of any given year and, to be quite frank, such a selection tends to be more subjective than objective. However, it is those who attract much media attention who usually stand out in the minds of most citizens and therefore are either viewed in a positive or negative light. Of course, it is not just people who get the spotlight focused on them. There are institutions, various entities and sundry things that can take on a persona of their own, whether good or bad.
