  • Wisynco to slash prices

    Tuesday, 16 December 2008
The government's incentive package to the manufacturing sector has started to pay off.

One of the country's leading manufacturing companies, the Wisynco Group, has announced a range of price reductions effective Tuesday.

In a statement issued on Monday night Wisynco said it decided to lower prices in response to the Government's support to manufacturers.

Wisynco's Managing Director, William Mahfood, told RJR News his company will be slashing prices on key locally manufactured items.

"Our Bigga soft drinks, WATA bottled water, plastic manufactured items, lunch boxes, cups, plates, etcetera. We have been faced with pressures from inflation and the movement of currency etcetera but at the same time these measures that are going to be put in place as of January, we will have a reduction in our manufacturing inputs," said Mr. Mahfood.

During his address to the nation on Sunday Prime Minister Bruce Golding announced a package of assistance for the manufacturing sector.

It includes loans at concessionary rates as well as the removal of Customs User Fees on capital goods and raw materials.

that is the way to go.

Make the local company more competitve and make it easier to start and grow a business.

Only hope the people buy local products when this is done. We need fi think local right now and use the good local products especially if the price is good.

I hope more companies follow suite.
