OBama 1st, 6th or 44th Black president?!!

Based on the ONE DROP rule that says one touch of african means one is black it seems that Obama is way down the line in being the first President of African ancestry. The ONE drop rule basically states anyone with 1/64th part African is a negro, thus out of the 64 possible great-great-great-great set of ancestors one would be black, with this criteria pretty much everyone of the aUS presidents may meet this criteria especially if any of their family has been in the US over 200 years.

What one can say is that Obama is the first more that 49.9% African to hold the post and definitely the first one with an African father.

There are few people who can claim to be solely from one racial group. Race is less defined by certain obvious characteristics, but it is defined by cultural association. For all cultural purposes Obama is the first black president.
