If you talking about 2-4 million then we can't be compare with Somalia or Haiti.

So what is the difference between violence in democratic and undemocratic states? isn't it violence anyway.

There are many undemocractic states that can make democratic states look horrible.

I don't have time to look at the population but look at states like Venuzula, Guatumala, Columbia and you will see a high level of violence. Look at the Congo, Zimbabwe, and other African countries. Look at countries Serbia, and it former alies, look at Nothern Ireland. Look at the middle eastern countries of Palestine, Lebonan and so many others.

There are examples around where voilence is the order of the day, I don't have to look too far. My only problem is Jamaicans are not willing to make that change.

You might want to reconsider Columbia these days.

I watched a progam on Columbia the other day, particularly the infamous city of Medellín, the headquarters of Pablo Escobar. At the height of the drug wars there were about 500 homicides a month in this city of more than 3 million. In the last few years they are down to about 35 homicides a month.

Yep, thats correct, Kingston is now a more dangerous city than Medellín, Columbia, once known as the murder capital of the world. Even worse the murder rate is going in opposite directions.

You might want to take Nothern Ireland off your list too.

Rudi is correct, our only company these days are the war-torn and failed states.

It is beyond shameful what has been going on in Ja. Can we get someone from JFJ to run for political office?

The fact is what takes place in Jamaica is a lot closer to Somalia and Haiti than anywhere else. The difference is that Jamaica has the facade of democracy blah-blah which the rationalisers buy into.
Rudi, this sums up perfectly the point I'm making! Excellent response!
