Some personal reflections on capital punishment
I first became interested in the death penalty back in 1969 as a debate topic for a high school class. We were all young and most of us innocent and all but a very few well-meaning. A poll before the debate showed 96 per cent opposed to the death penalty (there was a movement against it and all we heard on television and radio was how barbaric and unnecessary it was) and four per cent in favour.
