Finance Minister Audley Shaw is receiving more criticisms following his national address on Sunday.
The National Democratic Movement (NDM) in a statement said while Mr. Shaw was strong on diagnosis and prescription, he was weak on Government action to cushion the high prices and out of control cost of living.
It argued that the state of affairs was not addressed by Mr. Shaw.
The opposition PNP has also criticised the Finance Minister's address, claiming that he failed to provide specifics on how the Government intends to stimulate the struggling economy.
In his national broadcast, Mr. Shaw continued to express optimism that Jamaica's economy and financial sector will weather the storm of the economic turmoil.
He also announced that the Government will be pumping billions of dollars into the economy to help persons in the productive, manufacturing and agricultural sectors to confront the financial crisis.
