The US Presidential campaign ended last Tuesday with a resounding victory for the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama.It was an interesting and riveting campaign.

I am relieved to see the term 'parallel'.

I think i learned that parallel lines never meet...

Manley (with all his good intentions)--destroyed Jamaica.

Good article and good advice. It seems more people are seeing the similarities that I was seeing.

One other thing I would identify as a big mistake that the Manley regime made and Obama must avoid, is keeping the radicals under control. After a time it seemed the PNP govt of the 70s really believed that everything that went wrong and every criticism that was directed at them was a conspiracy rooted in the JLP, the CIA or both. The far left of the Democratic party has some of the same tendencies as some of those radical PNP groups. The PNPYO of that time was one of the main culprits.
