McKenzie to chair international roundtable of mayors

KINGSTON'S mayor, Desmond McKenzie, has been elected chairman of the Inter-City Co-operation Network (ICCN) International Roundtable of Mayors.
The election took place in Qalyubiya, Egypt on Wednesday at the close of the ICCN's Third International Roundtable of Mayors, attended by some 38 mayors from cities around the world. The mayors also selected Kingston as the site for the Fourth International Roundtable in 2009.
With the close of the Qalyubiya Roundtable, McKenzie will assume leadership of the Roundtable, a position which he will hold until January 2010.
