There is an urgent need in Jamaica for information on the impact the global financial crisis is likely to have on the Jamaican economy, to be communicated to the people without causing panic. I found a recent discussion between a group of citizens and an economist at St Matthew's Church Hall, Allman Town, quite enlightening. What was remarkable was the simplicity of the discussion, a summary of which is presented below.
