Thats one of the Jamaican books I need to re-read. I remember covering it in literature class but don't think I fully got it then.

Considering when it was written and the way the Rastaman was looked down on in Jamaica at that time it was really a book before its time.

amen bro.....i think that it wasn't done before because it could not be done without the messianic imagery which is crucial to the story. in any event it is a project that should be taken up now, i think the time is ripe.
