'Unnu too tief'

Dear Editor,
Wi tief so till. Sir, wi tief till government have to enact strong measures so that we can keep our grilles and zinc roofs on our houses. It is a good thing no one has yet found a buyer for body parts, or else many of us would be in serious danger of having our organs stolen. We kill at such a tremendous rate that it struck me that this might just happen, for this is Jamaica, a multifaceted land, a mixture of good and such diabolical evil that one wonders if the criminals have human parents.
Now, to what is most on my mind:
Theresa Falconer, born 1912, died on October 4 and was buried on October 12 in Queensbury, St Elizabeth. Her son Glenford died six years ago. Glenn's request was to be cremated, and to be interred in Jamaica at the same time as his mother. His two daughters made the long trek from England to Jamaica with Glenn's remains. They went to Mandeville and before alighting from the vehicle were held up at knife point. The thieves took their baggage, including their travel documents and their father's remains.
What! The dead cannot even have their request honoured anymore! Bring back Glenn's ashes. Unnu too tief. When we were children we heard that people tief, that they could tief milk out of coffee. Those old people did not know how to do that, but knowledge has increased to the point that we can steal anything through science. However, Glenn's remains are not cocaine or crack, so beware if these thieves try to pass this off in Mandeville or surrounding areas as such stuff. Unnu tief so till unnu nuh know wha fi tief again!
