The Pulse Corporation, by selecting a 13-year-old child, Shermonique Ivey, as the winner of this year's Jamaica Fashion Model competition, has nearly created a heart attack among those in society who cherish the sanctity of childhood. Pulse chairman, Mr Kingsley Cooper, has had to resort to spending some of his company's newly earned but still scarce profits to take out full-page advertisements in local newspapers in an attempt to cleanse himself of any culpability in a situation that is turning uglier by the day, so unlike the attractively innocent Shermonique.
