  • Virginia Registrations Surge

RICHMOND, Va.: Seven percent increase in number of new voters could favor Barack Obama as registrations are up in Democratic Richmond.

State elections officials say 306,215 Virginians have registered to vote since the beginning of the year.
Board of Elections Secretary Nancy Rodrigues says that's a 7 percent increase in total voters.
Nearly 4.9 million Virginians are now registered to vote as of Thursday. The pattern of new registrations appears to favor Democrat Barack Obama, and the largest percentage increase was in heavily Democratic Richmond.
The deadline to register to vote is 5 p.m. Monday.

This was sourced at Fixed News, so I don't know how much we can believe it. The other night I saw where one of their reporters were in a diner in PA. He turned to the patrons and asked, "How many of you here will be voting .... (At this point one person started raising his hand) .. for John McCain?" The camera started going around the room, but it appeard the person that started raising his hand too early was pulling it down ... but cannot say for certain. So lets say 1 vote.

The follow up question, "How many will be voting for Barack Obama?" Everybody in the frame of the camera quickly threw up their hand. Amazingly the Fixed News reporter turned to the camera and said, "ummm ... seemed pretty even!"

Lack of coordination...camera and message? Should the camera have shown the true picture...or the Fixed News reporter stepped off 'the lie---errr line'?

Thank God for youtube. One correction, a woman and the person sitting beside her started putting up their hands. The woman realized, put down her hand and knocked down the man's hand.

        See for yourself.
