The Police High Command says it has so far not been able to identify any evidence to substantiate a newspaper report that a female cop was raped by one of her colleagues while on duty three weeks ago.
A statement issued by the High Command Tuesday night said since the Gleaner newspaper report regarding the alleged rape, every effort has been made to identify the complainant.
It said checks done through Areas and Divisional commands as well as the crime portfolio failed to glean any record of the rape claim being reported.
The High Command said efforts were also made to get information from the Gleaner to no avail.
It however stated categorically that it abhors any form of sexual harassment within and outside of its ranks and once information is provided a thorough investigation will be conducted.
It issued an appeal to the alleged victim to contact any member of the High Command.
