Popular dance hall artiste Vybz Kartel is now in police custody.
st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, was arrested at his studio on Kirk Avenue in Havendale, St. Andrew shortly after 5pm Wednesday during one of two raids carried out by members of the Joint Taskforce.
The second raid was conducted at Kartel's home on Hacienda Way in Norbrook, also in St. Andrew.
Ten persons were detained including a policeman who is on suspension from the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The cop is reportedly working as Kartel's bodyguard.
RJR News has been informed that Vybz Kartel is being questioned in connection with the fatal shooting of a member of the criminal underworld in Portmore, St. Catherine two weeks ago.
It is reported that since the killing, the artiste has been receiving death threats from persons who were associates of the dead man.
