Most of the dead are in Haiti, and when it rains there is massive flooding due to catastrophic deforestation. The last figure I heard was 7 dead in Jamaica.

You are correct. The 70-plus figure represents total reported deaths throughout the Caribbean (Hispaniola to be exact).
