Our changing classrooms

Our school classroom environment has changed significantly over the last 10 years but more dramatically over the last two years. Few people would have envisaged the level of indiscipline and daring acts by some schoolchildren and their parents. We are stunned by the ferocity of the acts of indiscipline perpetrated by individual students and some gangs. In utter amazement many people have to be asking, "When did we get here?" However, it will not be enough to express shock and disbelief. As a society it is imperative that we find a sustainable solution to the problem in the shortest possible time so that the words of some will not come true when they say, "You ain't seen nothing yet." The thought is frightening.
If we reflect for a moment we may recall the time not so long ago when the school and its precincts were regarded as almost sacred.
