Condemnation! Two cops murdered

The Jamaica Police Federation has added its voice to those expressing shock and outrage at the brutal slaying of two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force in St. Catherine Saturday night.
st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }Dead are Inspector Dennis Gardener who was assigned to the Hunts Bay Police Station as the Community Safety and Security Officer and Corporal Rodney Henry.
Henry was a Firearms Instructor at the Police Academy in Twickenham Park, St. Catherine.
General Secretary of the Federation, Corporal Hartley Stewart, says the targeting of police officers is orchestrated, as they continue to be a block between gunmen and law abiding citizens.
Corporal Stewart called for the resumption of hanging.
"Extraordinary times call for extraordinary solutions, it is time enough that we do the right and do the bold and do the hard things that are necessary to a semblance of normality," he said.
Inspector Gardener was found dead with gunshot wounds in St. Johns Heights.
Corporal Henry was at his gate in Cumberland Meadows shortly after nine o'clock when gunmen walked up and shot him.
He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.
Meanwhile, National Security Minister Colonel Trevor MacMillan has described the slaying of the two policemen as an unfathomable horror.
Senator MacMillan said the fact that the killings came within hours of the burial of another member of the force after he too was killed by gunmen makes Saturday's killings even more dastardly. The National Security Minister asserted however that these evil doers will not succeed as members of the security forces will remain steadfast in carrying out their duties as they continue their fight against criminals.
And Opposition Spokesman on National Security, Dr. Peter Phillips greeted the news of the killing of two more policemen with dismay and anquish.
Dr. Phillips said the brutal killing of the two lawmen is another bout of cowardice on the part of criminals.
He emphasized that the perpetrators of these acts must be hunted down and brought to justice.
He has also called upon the hardworking men and women of the force to hold strain and continue to uphold the principle of professionalism.
Both men also expressed condolences to the families of the slain policemen.
