Ridiculous to hear these expatriates to the USA (Historian, HL and the rest) question the patriotism of those who want to repatriate to the Motherland.
I don't think Rasta or black culture in general will be able to have anything close to the economic success of the Jews until we change the way we think about economic/captialistic independence.
Jews teach thier children that making money by providing goods and services to a community is not only a good thing, it is something that pleases God.
Black culture tends to convey the message to its young people that being a successful businessman makes you an evil person. If you get rich by singing, playing a guitar or being skillful with a ball then that is considered "clean" money to black people, but if you provide goods and/or services to the public and get paid well for it then you are a capitalist exploiter.
Until we overcome this kind of thinking we will forever be the consumers of these goods and services, while someone else will produce them.

It makes sense to petition the Queen, simply because the British were the longest standing colonialists of JA. Therefore it can be concluded that it is more likelly that they ( the British) brought most Africans to JA.
Therefore, why should a rasta pay and go through all that formality when the Queen as the ex head of state of some west african countries might have political sway in "repatriating" descendants of african slaves rather than those descendants having to go through the rigours of an immigration process to West Africa.
Now if the rastas want to go to Ethiopia, even though their forefathers never came from there, that might be a different process as Ethiopia was never really colonised. They would have to go through the formal immigration process I would think.
