  • Disappointing Loaded

A bitter taste was left in the mouths of thousands of patrons at the annual Fully Loaded concert.
Most stood for more than five hours to hear what the 'Five Star General', Bounty Killer, had to say, however, it was all in vain. Bounty, although present, did not grace the stage at all.
This did not only trigger a massive exodus at 3:40 a.m., but one filled with disappointment. The Killer's fans were 'cross' at not seeing him, 'angry' for not hearing his voice and 'miserable' after hours of standing at the Fort Clarence Beach venue.

    Out of time

However, the event had simply run out of time. Poor stage management caused an extended fresh act segment and several unimpressive sound systems were given too much time behind the turntables.
'Mr. Fully Loaded', Tony Matterhorn, did not even get to play a set. 'The Gully God', Mavado, only managed a short stint onstage before he bid the crowd farewell and Assassin did not get past the first verse of two songs
    .

    Lame selectors

Earlier, Vybz Kartel, Lil Wayne, Mavado and Konshens represented well, thanks to the plethora of dub plates played throughout the night. The 'Back To Basics' theme did not stick as most of the selectors simply did not play the part. Some were simply lame. Many artistes were also onstage way past their alotted time. This was apparent in the case of Macka Diamond, Voice Mail, Nesbeth, and the 'Blond Ras' Harry Toddler, all of whom added very little to the entertainment value of the proceedings.
