Rasta does not support institutions (Babylon) which have played a role in the oppression of black people. Babylon refers to "church and state", that is, organized religion (Vatican) and government institutions etc.

"Another important Afrocentric identification is with the colours red, gold, and green, of the Ethiopian flag as well as, with the addition of black, the colours of "Pan-African Unity" for Marcus Garvey. They are a symbol of the Rastafari movement and of the loyalty Rastas feel toward Haile Selassie, Ethiopia, and Africa rather than for any other modern state where they happen to live."
Mi know seh di concept of Rasta clearly disqualifies true believers from being Patriotic to Jamaica (Babylon).

A patriot is much more than that one line definition. Martin Luther King loved his country, and he fought against the racist oppressive authorities. It is morally repugnant to support authorities who are oppressive and brutal.

Ironically though Rastas have contributed more to Jamaicas national identity than any other modren cultural group. I know thats incidental but worth mentioning.
Not many of them have been moving to Shashemene recently, so I suspect the loyalty to Ethiopia is mostly a spiritual one than a national one. Kind of like the Judeo-Christian love for Jerusalem.

The mere fact that some Rastas support the Rasta Party suggests that they all don't want to go back to Africa, but do care about Jamaica and want her to prosper like most of us.
