  • Virgin Atlantic to increase service to Montego Bay

Virgin Atlantic has announced it will increase its service from London's Gatwick Airport to Montego Bay in time for the Christmas holiday travel period.
The carrier is planning to offer five extra flights during the Christmas period.

The dates for the first three additional flights will be December 22, 23 and 24 and the final two flights are set for January 5 and 6.
Virgin's Chief Executive Steve Ridgway said the London/Gatwick-Montego Bay route has proved very popular with leisure customers.
He said these additional flights will provide a further boost to the region's economy, with over 2,000 passengers expected to take advantage of the extra services.

Although it is not the home base for Virgin Atlantic, Gatwick Airport hosts many of the carrier's flights with destinations in the Caribbean.
Regular services on Virgin Atlantic operate from Gatwick to Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia, among others.
Last year Air Jamaica sold its slots at London's Heathrow Airport to Virgin Atlantic.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)
