  • 44th cop arrested this year

Another member of the police force has been arrested for allegedly running afoul of the law.
The constable who is stationed at the Montego Bay Police Station in St. James was detained on Tuesday on a charge of extortion.
A member of the Island Special Constabulary Force is also being sought in connection with the case.

It is reported that members of the Anti-Corruption Branch conducted a sting operation at a car park near the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.

Detective Constable Roger Forrester was arrested.
Constable Forrester's arrest brings to 44 the number of policemen arrested since the start of the year.
A majority of the cases involved the acceptance of bribes from civilians.
In recent months, the Anti-Corruption Branch has stepped up efforts to nab rogue cops.

Don't hold your breath Mr Time, and that is unlikely to occur in Jamaica. Politicians are almost never charged with a crime in Ja.
