Citizens warned of inconvenience as police increase raids in St. James
The St. James Police detained several suspects and seized ammunition on Sunday during a major police/military operation in Albion Lane.
Head of the St. James Police Superintendent Steve McGregor declared that over the next couple of weeks the police will be conducting daily operations in an attempt to stop the bloodletting in St. James.
"We'll be asking the citizens just to be patient with us because we'll be inconveniencing them somewhat as it relates to their movement depending on the area that we're in at any given time.
In the end, this is for their own good as we're trying to stop the hemorrhage that we're having in St. James. It is working so far and we'll be continuing this drive," he said.
Superintendent McGregor said the operation had so far yielded several rounds of ammunition and the apprehension of men who were wanted in connection with several shootings.
