Deputy Solicitor-General Patrick Foster is to step down Wednesday after serving the Attorney-General's Department for five years.
Mr. Foster, who acted as Solicitor-General following Michael Hylton's resignation last November, tendered his resignation in March.
He is among ten government attorneys who have tendered their resignations this year.
Last week, another senior member of the department Nicole Foster-Pusey announced that she was leaving.
There has been speculation that she decided to step down because of differences with Attorney General and Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne.
Mrs. Foster-Pusey, the Director of State Proceedings in the AG's Department, reportedly came under pressure from her boss when she decided against taking the $3 million cost awarded to the government in the dual citizenship battle between People's National Party (PNP) candidate Abe Dabdoub and Daryl Vaz.
Chief Justice Zaila McCalla awarded cost against Mr. Dabdoub although he won the case against Mr. Vaz.
Sources say Mrs. Foster-Pusey decided to waive the cost because she felt that the Chief Justice was wrong in awarding the cost against Mr. Dabdoub.
Sources say the decision by the officials in the Ministry of Justice in March to block her promotion to the post of acting Deputy Solicitor General also left a bitter taste in her mouth.
