  • Police kill suspect in cosmetologist’s murder

Friday, 30 May 2008 A man who is believed to have carried out the daring execution-style murder of a woman in the middle of Half-Way-Tree Square two weeks ago was shot and killed by the police.

The suspect was shot dead during an operation in Grants Pen, St. Andrew on Saturday.

The police are now seeking the assistance of members of the public who witnessed the killing of the woman to identify him.

Shushania Young, 23, a cosmetologist was shot repeatedly by a gunman at York Plaza, one of St. Andrew's busiest shopping locations on May 12.

Miss Young was killed in full view of scores of customers who were conducting business in York Plaza, and commuters at the nearby Portmore bus depot.
