Employees of Air Jamaica have warned that they will embark on wildcat strikes if there is no word in the next two weeks from the airline's management regarding their demand for a new wage package.
The workers gave notice during a special meeting held in Kingston Monday night.
Scores of employees gathered at the National Workers Union (NWU) headquarters to discuss Air Jamaica's response to their request for a pay hike.
In light of the sudden postponement of a meeting scheduled for last week to discuss cost cutting measures at the airline, the workers have decided to give the management one more chance to return to the negotiating table.
NWU Vice-President Granville Valentine said the workers are adamant that after June 10, the time for talk will be over.
Mr. Valentine said the workers are adamant that if the company does not produce all the documentation by next week, then they will take industrial action and the union will not be able to convince them otherwise.
