    and all these other never-ending wars, maybe if there was a global "War on Poverty" those other wars would not be necessary.

    Only the elimination of extreme poverty can prevent unnecessary death tolls like this cyclone.

    I remember when the tsunami just hit, they reported 25,000 killed. The toll rose by 10,000 every hour it seemed, settling at around 225,000.

    They first reported 2,500 dead after this cyclone. Who knows where it will end up.

    Sad stuff!
