Sorry, can't agree. Not saying he should take up every little civil rights issue on his back at this time. The presidency is much more than that. But the presidency is also that. Even Hillary and McKain should be faced with tough questions about civil rights.

My rights as a human being and as a black man must never be pushed to a back burner and dealt with when the time is right.

Mosiah , the greatest journey begins with a single step. A black man cannot win the presidency without white votes and the whites will feel uncomfortable voting for a black civil rights activist candidate. Obama needs to stay focused on the first step i.e winning the presidency.

Willi, I suspect that isn't the case.
Now Wright has said he will be a pastor even after the election, that maybe so but I think he will likely assume a role as a Civil Rights Activist, and one that redefines the word ecumenical, not limiting it to Christians.It is like King forging allegiance with Malcolm. He will be that force.

I agree Willi, there is something behind the scenes.. Roland Martin ( I think that is name) the CNN analyst and I think husband of a preacher who moves in the Obama and Wright circle says in a roundabout way that Wright was told not to make the appearance on the PBS and Press corp.. and he did it... So I think there is more going on. Also I read where they are saying the invite for the Press corps thing came from Clinton backers and again he was warned how to deal with this and he did not and put on a show.. Again for karl i said throw him under the bust and reverse the bus pon him..
