Claiming Jamaica can't afford free education and free healthcare and use every rule in the book to justify it.
Can we name one socialist country that don't have free healthcare and education? As a matter of fact most capitalist countries outside of the US do.
The repented socialist them don't believe government should interfere in the economy and continue to blame the business class for all the ills. In which socialist or capitalist country this doesn't happen? Tell me when government don't take that role serious. The economist will tell you that is one of the reasons for the US great depression.
The repented socialists no longer believe in small business iniatives but believe in only major investments. I woner if they believe HP started in a garage, A wonder if they realised Homedepot started with one store, A wonder if they realise Microsoft was a two man initative? If Jamaica is going to grow we will have to give the small man a chance. Again the economist will tell you that small businesses needs a break to grow and compete and it is the role of government to provide that security for infant companies and industries to grow.
I am no socialist but I only believe in workable force and we can't just sell out our country to rich investors without thinking about ownership by Jamaicans and let them strive or soon we will not be able to own a house in our own country.
We must provide a basic education for every kid who live in Jamaica, not let them even use the praise "me can't afford it" or have to call a foriegn to pay school fees. The kids can't suffer for the parents.
Free healtcare should make our workforce more productive as people will go to the doctor with whatever ailment they have instead of living years with this condition because they can't pay for it or go bancrupt like many of us in the US. Going bancrupt with health bill is not a common thing in most western countries.
