The article is definitely too technical for the majority of people in this world. J curve, sharpe ratios and hedge funds terminology are things that will throw the average man off so much that the article makes no sense to him.

The article does raise a solid point in terms of how some groups in JA are able to beat all these PHD led hedge funds. Although unlikely, he may have found an arbitrage opportunity and is continually successful because he is not discussing his startegy and the amount he is trading is small relative to the institutions that dominate the fx market.

If a fund advisor said its funds made 5%, when it made 0%, and investors rely on that statement to invest, then that statement qualifies as fraudulent misrepresentaion (civil) and larceny-by-trick (criminal). When persons have put money into a fund, made back their money, pulled out some and are now receiving health montly payments, I certainly don't think they fit into those categories.

I could see him finding some way to beat the market by a few percentage points over a reasonable period of time but its very hard to imagine that all those software simulation and back-testing programs would not pick up on something that outperforms so consistently and by such a large margin.

That's technical analysis but how does a piece of software do fundamental analysis such as government policy and societal factors? You also have to realize that forex trades are trading on margin so they are able to reap huge returns or, of course, huge losses.

some of the simulations and back testing too look at changes in govt policies using dummy variables.

Olint stopped taking new investments before they moved out of Jamaica. Please explain to me how Olint survived without taking new investments?
