  • $200 Million Available for Motor Vehicle Loans

    An allocation of $200 million has been made available in the 2008/09 Estimates of Expenditure to provide motor vehicle loans to certain categories of public officers, as agreed with the Government and the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions.
    According to the 2008/09 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House, $20 million has also been set aside to provide computer loans to certain categories of public officers as per the agreement between the Government and various groups within the public service.
    In addition, $119 million has been allocated to meet the cost of the computerisation of the Customs Department and $210 million to meet the cost of computerizing the operations of other revenue departments.
    A sum of $17 million has also been allocated to maintain and upgrade the financial management information system in Ministries and Departments.

        Labourites aren't the only public sector workers.

            What? The application form asks the applicant to indicate if they're labourite or PNP?
