Approximately 80 persons were detained following an early morning joint police/military operation at a dance in McGregor Gully off Mountain View Avenue Sunday.
The raid was spearheaded by senior officers assigned to the Kingston Eastern Police Division.
Two men were arrested and charged for breaches of the Noise Abatement Act.
They are promoter of the popular Saturday night session "Fraggy Night" Delory Anderson and sound system owner Owen Powell.
Commanding Officer for the East Kingston Division Superintendent Assan Thompson said the dance was a nuisance to residents.
"We have had complaints about this dance that it goes on until the late hours of Sunday morning. We have tried overtime to stop it without any success so we decided that we would once and for all send a strong message," he said.
