    British woman killed in Jamaica

A British woman on an extended holiday in Jamaica has been found murdered.

Police on the Caribbean island said the body of Barbara Scott-Jones, 61, was found in a pit near the house she was staying at in the island's northwest.

Ms Scott-Jones, from Leeds, had been in Jamaica since January and was due to return home next month. She was reported missing on 14 March.

just another senseless murder in jamaica... considering that over
1400 jamaicans were murdered in 2007 and over 300 jamaicans in 2008, the amount of british is rather low... notwithstanding, any murder is a tragedy and one too many...

    my sympathies to their family...

From all accounts, it appears that is he lover kill her (a laborer half her age), he's now wanted for questioning, if he hasn't yet moved to another parish and in hiding!

It was in Saturday's Observer paper, but with their archiving system, I can't call it up.

Agreed wid you and baddaz, it appears to be a crime of passion, age difference and the suggested crime is irrelevant regarding the pain felt by her love ones.Condolences to them.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.
