Joseph Bruno, the Republican State Senate majority leader will become his Lt. Governor. The man has Jamaican roots???

It is not certain if Bruno will become the No. 2 man. It is not automatic who assumes that position.

According to the NY Times, the position of lieutenant governor will be left vacant through 2010 under the terms of the State Constitution.

If this was CT, the majority leader of the Senate would become Lt. Governor.

But it is expected that the minority leader, Smith, will become the majority leader of the NY senate and thereby become the lt. gov.
