There is another area in Long Island where I visited a retirement home...it is at the end of (what is the name of the road that takes you into Amityville going South and North by Melville...onwards after crossing Jericho Turnpike?)...going North at the end of that road there is a high priced area...they have some very, very 'nice' retirement homes.
Also try Hauppauge, Long Island.
