  • Peart willing to apologise publicly if ...

    published: Thursday | March 6, 2008

MICHAEL PEART, former speaker of the House of Representatives and member of parliament for Manchester South, says he is willing to make a public apology to the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) by this weekend if his probe concludes that the special report into the Cuban light bulb project was not leaked from that office.

Peart told The Gleaner on Tuesday that his investigation would be concluded this week.

The former speaker said he would not hesitate to apologise to the OCG if he is satisfied that the leak was not from that office.

Two weeks ago, the Manchester South MP charged that an email containing the special report into the Cuban light bulb project was sent from the OCG to sections of the media.

But in a swift response, Contractor General Greg Christie publicly challenged Peart to substantiate his claim that the leak had emanated from his office.

To date, Peart has not produced any proof to support his allegation.

...and if he concludes his investigations supports him...he muust not just say so...but lay the information out for the relevant authorities! He may then be supported by those relevant authorities to the extent of what he has presented...

...conclusions from (that) those relevant (authority) authorities may or may not support his findings!

          mmmm?
Sometimes findings of even the very best investigators...are disavowed in the highest authority...the courts!

I am sure it sometimes means that final finding, while widely accepted as final, is at times found to be...disputed and presented as in fact, not!

Confusing findings i.e. the court's and other expose'?
Sure! ...as in difficult to arrive at which is true!

          ...so Christie or Peart?
          Who is wrong? ...mmmm???

No no no Karl. That used to occur when we had a government steeped in corruption, fraud and nepotism. You have to adjust your frame of reference now.
