  • First sitting of the PAC

It was a full house at Tuesday's first sitting of the Public Accounts Committee since the change in administration.

Chairman Dr. Omar Davies in his opening remarks admitted that there has been a long delay in reviewing reports from the Auditor General's Department.

In outlining his approach as Chairman, Dr. Davies called on Members to use the sitting to focus on major deficiencies that have been highlighted in each of the three reports to be considered by the Committee.

Before demitting office at the end of last year, former Auditor General Adrian Strachan chided the Government for the long delays in reviewing the department's three reports for the period 2004-2007

At Tuesday morning's sitting, Dr. Davies said he would be taking steps to minimise delays in examining reports from the Auditor General's Department.

The PAC under the leadership of the CAPE sitter met every week.

          If true, Good!
Sounds JLPitis-type answer considering he must have campaigned during the last elections (JLP campaign for more than a year)...and chief surrogate to Brucie at that!

Anyway...I hope Omar can, from now on, keep 'close company'.

You've already hinted that you haven't a clue. Stop act like 50 cent wid the 21 questions. If yuh nuh want the answer why ask the question then? Then again, due to how Omar was constantly messing up .. the PAC then had to meet on a very regular basis.

The PAC did meet during the campaign, suh don't try and spin it. Remember Shaw was on the campaign trail when he said he was going to "peppa him backside" in reference to unuh god and the after compliants from KD and John Junor he stepped aside as head of the PAC and Mike Henry took over.
