Jamaica Trade and Invest offices to be opened around the world
The Government's investment promotion agency, Jamaica Trade and Invest, is to open new offices at strategic locations around the world.
Other offices which have been out of operation will also be re-opened.
Industry Minister Karl Samuda said plans are on the drawing board for the offices to open in Brussels, New York and Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Samuda said this forms part of a plan by the Government to attract significant investments to Jamaica.
He said he has held discussions with Canadian-based Jamaican businessman, Ray Chang, who has consented to be Jamaica's Trade Consul in Canada.
Mr. Chang will operate out of Toronto.
On the matter of business development, the Minister said there are plans to relocate the operations of the Jamaica Business Development Centre.
It will move from its current location on South Camp Road to facilities at the Garmex Freezone.
