Life is a system of half-truths and lies, opportunistic, convenient evasion.”
    - Langston Hughes

I think whistleblowers are at least encouraged and believed, as those that testify against Adams(no reconciling their position with that of the defense..)were never charged with any crime relating to the perversion of justice.
Their impact on the proceedings is uaually insignificant as a whole, and that is the problem.
In a criminal case, will the testimony of born again cop survive the scrutiny of a decent defense attorney?
The issue of cops lying is a fact, and "born again" remains faith based.
That reason coupled with his full knowledge that such a confession likely means the end of his career is why I am leaning towards an encouraged or forced resignation..., leaving the officer with his pension and benefits.

If you want people to be whistle blower you cant punish them when they come forward. How hard is that to understand? He should be charged with whatever the set charges are and then encouraged to dialogue how widespread the practice is and out the issue. If you suspend him what reason does he have to talk.

He is not really a whistleblower, now, is he? He admits to lying in order to bring about a conviction. That is way different!

            But I understand what u r saying.
