Transport Minister Mike Henry said the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, (JUTC), has seen a significant reduction in monthly losses, since costs saving measures were put in place late last year.
According to Mr. Henry, the state-run bus company has recorded two consecutive months of expenses below projection.
It was announced earlier this week that the JUTC will be laying off 407 employees for three months to allow it to reorganise its operations.
The new Board, which was appointed in October, has been given 18 months to improve the company's financial status.
