Monday, 14 January 2008
A day after members of the security forces killed five people in Tivoli Gardens in West Kingston, residents there are speaking out against the police and councillor, Desmond Mckenzie.
Our news team went to the area Monday morning which was a stark contrast to Sunday.
There were no members of the security forces in sight.
Inside the ransacked house where the incident took place, there were several spent shells on the floor.
The residents were not only angry with members of the security forces but also over statements made by councillor for the division Desmond McKenzie.
"Desmond said the helicopter didn't fire any shots but the helicopter did fire shots and Desmond has not said anything about that," said a resident of Tivoli Gardens.
