The difference between guys like Powell , Obama and Jackson, and Sharpton is that they themselves as having different roles int he same fight. Sharpton and Jackson are civil rights leaders. Their constituency is amost exclusively poor minorities - usually black or latino. They runs for president were aimed that ensuring the needs of their constituents remain at the top of the list when the establishment politcos pick their Presidential candidate. Believe me they are just as confident if not even more so than Obama and Powell who - as government officials - serve a much more diverse and complex constituency. They have proven track records of doing what they do well - draw attention to injustice, inequality and the other racial biases. They may lack - if not shun - the charm and smoothness of Obama and Powell.

But what makes Obama and Powell attractive to the 'main stream' is the fact that their legacy is in public service not civil rights. Check out Obama's site to see how he skillfully addresses issues that the average black person recognizes as an issue borne out of racism, but presents it without once mentioning the word 'black'. The truth is they are perceived as non-threatening to the main stream. A requirement for anyone who wants to win that voters heart. The threat of Obama is to the status-quo Washington elite. That threat appeals to the 'main stream'.

It is the fact that Sharpton and Jackson appear threatening to the main stream that makes them attractive to minorities and unattractive to those they threaten.

The USA right now is on the decline as written in the book of life

They are trying to get back in AFrica after they and their arrogant European friends underdeveloped the region for how long.

so what bonus level of arrogance do you have to be on to dare beg Africa to put bases there after what you did.
