  • Mike Henry concerned about national projects

Transport and Works Minister, Mike Henry, is expressing concern about the design and technical lay-out of several major projects across the country.

According to Mr. Henry, the projects particularly roads, are not being designed to withstand the impact of worsening weather conditions.

He says the government will be exploring whether recent European Union funding can assist with developing durable roads.

The Minister also announced that two major projects have been given the green-light by Cabinet.

He says Railway development procedures have been cleared, and approval was given by Parliament this week, for the next stage of development for Vernamfield airstrip in Clarendon.

The Minister announced shortly after his appointment, that the development of Vernamfield would be a priority.
