Under US law, they can force fduals to surrender their foreign passport and take legal actions against people if they seek to regain the passport clandestinely. This is not enforced, BUT it could be selectively activated, if the US wants to passively intervene in our domestic affairs. JLP and PNP supporters would be displeased if this were to happen.

The posibility was explained much earlier when the US Embassy (I think it was the US Ambassador) was contacted by the media.

Homeland Security has even superceded the State Dept on visa issues, so its complicated in the US.

I could even see them going crazy saying that our domestic actions may be prejudicial to their citizens, blah blah blah.
